Internet Tool Kit

The internet is a huge place, really! Finding high quality products and services to fill your needs in the pursuit of social media marketing and revenue generation can be a daunting task. Trial and error is time consuming and can be costly. To help you I have prepared this list (ever growing I suppose) of internet providers that I use on a regular basis and therefore trust. Your feedback is always appreciated.

www.GoDaddy.com   Domain Services, Website Services, Email Services

I use Go Daddy all the time. You can purchase domain names, web site hosting, email services, and website services. They offer a full range of services and 24/7 phone support. Their customer service is great, by the way. If you are thinking web site, check Go Daddy's services first.

AWeber - Send Newsletters, Collect Contacts, Sync RSS Blog Posts and Create Autoresponders

AWeber is simply the industry standard for creating double opt-in mailing lists. AWeber gives you much more flexibility than Feedburner and in internet terms, they have been around forever - since 1998.

Dreamstime - Free, Royalty Free and Editorial Photographs and Illustrations

Need a photograph or illustration to add interest to your site or break up the copy of your blog posts? There are hundreds of places to get photos on the internet, free or otherwise. But I prefer, use and contribute to Dreamstime. They have nearly 12 million images on file and when you use one whether purchased or free, you know that you have permission to use it. It may cost a dollar or two, but I would rather pay that small amount than be sued later for the unauthorized use of a copyrighted image.

HootSuite - Management Tool for Social Media Accounts (and more)

Hootsuite will manage all of your Twitter functions as well as your Linkedin, Facebook and other social media accounts and tools from one page. It will do keyword searches and track mentions on Twitter or your blog as well as Direct Messages.

Hootsuite will schedule Tweets, handle RSS feeds, integrates analytics and allows you to add team members as users. The Professional Plan is just $5.99 per month. They also offer a free plan with fewer bells and whistles.

1and1 - Websites, Domains, Hosting, Email Solutions and more

The best thing about 1and1.com is their My Business Site plan. The My Business Site is an affordable and easy to set up and customize starter web site for businesses and professionals. In addition to the My Business Site plan, 1and1.com also offers really good rates on domains as well as hosting packages, Ecommerce, servers and virtual servers, email solutions and more.

Blogger - Blogging Platform

Blogger is the simpler to use of the two main blogging platforms. It's ease of use is an advantage, but there are fewer options for customization and plug ins.

WordPress - Blogging Platform

WordPress is the second of the two main blogging platforms. I recommend WordPress for professional and business blogs. The added plug ins and ability to customize on WordPress gives you more chances for your blog to stand out.

Market Samurai - Key Word and Linking Research (among other things!).

Market Samurai is an extremely important tool for serious players in the internet marketing world. The Google Keyword Tool is good, but can only take you so far. Market Samurai will give you the best URL's and under marketed key words. Give Market Samurai any key word and it will give you competitive analysis, back links counts and quality alternative suggestions.  Market Samurai will also give you tons of information about your competitors.

This tool will give you the most profitable key words for your niche area. Market Samurai is not only your license to print money, it is your $$$$$$ printing press.
